We love pubs. Not as a marketing line, as a fact about who we are and who built this company. The local that knows your order before you say it. The snug that has hosted three generations of the same family. The landlord who remembers your kids’ names. That is not nostalgia, it is the fabric of British communities, and it is disappearing faster than most people realise.
The Scale Of It
VAT on sales that supermarkets do not pay. Energy bills, minimum wage increases and National Insurance hikes that have squeezed margins that were already thin. Pubs are not closing because people stopped loving them, they are closing because the numbers stopped working.
